Learnt that Lang is eagle. Kawi is brown. so Pulau Langkawi is island of the brown eagle! Day One... First day when I departed I saw Japanese schoolgirls! Not the kind you see in movies but still.... tempting. Ah, the stewardesses (correct spelling?). Not as good as SIA's tho. 1 hour 35 mins of flight, we landed in some small small airport. Short runway, that's why we took a tiny 737. After we landed at around 8 plus, there was supposed to be a van to fetch us to the Langkasuka Resort but it wasnt there. 10 Rm for the taxi trip to the resort, but claimed from the counter later. Driver was sick i think, or maybe he hates singaporeans. The resort was a 3 star one, quite comfortable, if not for the horrible excess of insects, whether it be flying, crawling, swimming... It rained pretty heavily for the first night, and we crossed our fingers hoping that it wouldnt the next day. Day Two... Okay on this day it drizzled. In the morning it did. We decided that snorkelling wasnt worth it since it would be hard to see anything in that weather. So we chose island hopping. First stop was a freshwater lake, with catfish. Cooling swim. Then we went to feed eagles. This is the good one. You throw chicken in the water, and you see eagles swooping down to get them. Not huge, but they were big enough to awe you. No wonder the locals deemed eagles as guardians of that island. We also saw a natural island formation that looked like a pregnant maiden lying on her back. Then we went to some beach not worth mentioning. There was nothing there. This island hopping thing wasnt so fun except for the eagle part. But the boatman said it would be better if it hadnt been raining. Oh yeah, another thing. As we were returning back to the mainland it poured. And i tell you, it's fun. It's painful too. Try travelling at around 75 km/h and rain in your face. It hurts like hell. But the bouncing was fun. Unforgettable. Day Three... We rented a car. For 80 Rm. For 24 hrs. Went around the whole island. But first was the waterfall. It's called Telugah Tujuh, or Seven Wells. Named cos the waterfall is broken by seven holes. to get there was a little breathtaking, 550+ steps. But the view was worth it. Definitely. I'll post pictures up when I have the chance. After that we drove around and around the island. Yay, after 2 years of break, i'm back to YFC! i guess i can devote more of my time now to flying since it's the hols... but i need money!!! cos i'm gonna start rc flying! first, rc plane. second, rc boat. and maybe cars all this.... maybe i'll spend up to 1 thousand. so one step at a time. I'm trying to lose weight, cos they dun admit overweight people into PPL. :( but still, there's always a reason to be fit.
